Can I use PortfolioPilot to compare my current advisor's strategy against PortfolioPilot's recommendations?

Yes - the cleanest setup is to compare your advisor-managed account directly against your own self-managed account, side-by-side.

The setup:

  1. Add both accounts to Net Worth. Connect each brokerage by searching for it in the institution search box, upload a recent statement (PDF, screenshot, Excel, or CSV), or paste them in.
  2. Mark advisor-managed accounts as Externally managed. Open the account in Net Worth - pencil (Edit) icon - Account type - "Externally managed (e.g. financial advisor, Robo-Advisor)". PortfolioPilot will analyze them but won't generate buy/sell recommendations for them.
  3. Open Analysis & comparison and pick the two accounts as the two sides. You'll see differences in expected return, risk, Portfolio Score, country/sector exposure, and the Look-through analysis Holdings pie chart.

Extra context and tips:

  • Draft portfolios. Applying suggestions from Top recommendations lands them in a draft so nothing touches your brokerage. Useful if you want a third side - what PortfolioPilot would do - to compare against the advisor's allocation.
  • Asset Groups. If the two accounts share one portfolio, you can split them into separate Asset Groups to set different risk preferences and get separate recommendations per bucket.

Use the Portfolio Selector in the left sidebar (or at the top of the page on mobile) to switch between accounts while you review. Nothing in this flow places a trade. PortfolioPilot gives you the data to decide what, if anything, to act on.
