How do I add a 529 college savings account to PortfolioPilot?

To add a 529 college savings account:

  • Try connecting first. Open Net Worth - Add an asset - Securities and search for your 529 provider by name in the institution search box. PortfolioPilot routes you to the right connection partner.
  • Upload a statement or screenshot. From the same flow, drop in a recent statement (PDF, screenshot, Excel, or CSV) and PortfolioPilot extracts the holdings.
  • Or add it manually as a Securities account. Open Net Worth - Add an asset - Securities - "Enter or copy/paste securities". Name the account (e.g. "529 - Child's Education Fund") and enter the underlying funds with their current values.

Set Tax Treatment to Tax-Advantaged so PortfolioPilot factors the tax deferral correctly in projections and recommendations.
