How do I add a vehicle or car to my net worth in PortfolioPilot?

PortfolioPilot supports two ways to add a vehicle:

Option 1 - Manual entry (recommended for most users):

  1. Open Net Worth - "Add an asset" - Other assets - Physical asset.
  2. Enter the vehicle's name (e.g. "2021 Honda Civic") and current estimated value.
  3. Update the value periodically as the vehicle depreciates. Free tools like Kelley Blue Book give a current market estimate.

Option 2 - Connect via Plaid (select institutions):

Some financial institutions that track vehicle values (e.g. certain auto loan servicers) are available through Plaid. If yours is supported, go to Net Worth - "Add an asset" - Securities and search for the institution. If it appears, connect it and the vehicle value will sync automatically.

Either way, the vehicle's value is reflected in your net worth and the Retirement Planner projections update accordingly.
