Why does my account show zero balance after connecting?
If a connected account shows $0 after syncing, this usually happens because:
- The sync is still in progress. Some providers (especially Yodlee connections for 401k plans) can take up to 24 hours for the first sync. Wait and check the next day again.
- The account type isn't supported. Some 401k providers like Guideline, Principal, or Voya may sync the account structure but not the actual holdings. Try adding the account manually by entering your holdings directly in Net Worth → "Add an asset" → Securities → "Enter or copy/paste securities".
- The connection captured a snapshot before funds settled. Disconnect and reconnect the account in Net Worth to force a fresh sync.
If the balance still shows $0 after 24 hours, contact support@portfoliopilot.com with the institution name and your portfolio ID (visible in the URL) and we'll investigate and fix it as soon as possible.
