Does PortfolioPilot work for small portfolios? Is there a minimum portfolio size?

There is no minimum portfolio size. PortfolioPilot works for portfolios of any size - from a few thousand dollars to several million.

Unlike traditional financial advisors:

  • Many human advisors require $100,000–$500,000 minimums before they’ll take you on as a client
  • PortfolioPilot has no minimum - a $5,000 portfolio receives the same level of analysis and quality of recommendations as a $5,000,000 one, with suggestions tailored to each portfolio’s size and constraints
  • The free tier is designed to be useful for investors who are just starting out

What changes with portfolio size:

Smaller portfolios will naturally see fewer diversification recommendations (hard to hold 20 positions with $5,000), but the core tools - net worth tracking, retirement planning, Portfolio Score, and recommendations - work exactly the same regardless of size.

If you're early in your investing journey, PortfolioPilot can be especially useful for building good habits, understanding your risk profile, and making sure your first investments are well-structured.
