How do I add a security that isn't found in PortfolioPilot's database?

If a security isn't recognized when you search by ticker, you can add it as a custom security:

  1. Open Net Worth"Add an asset"Securities.
  2. Click "Enter or copy/paste securities".
  3. Type the ticker or name. If it doesn't appear, select "Create custom security".
  4. Enter the Name, Ticker, and Amount (Market Value) (required).
  5. Optional but recommended: fill in Asset class, Sector, Country, Dividend Yield, and 1-year expected return (use total return, not just dividends).
  6. Click Save.

About price updates: Custom securities can have automatic price updates. If you provide enough details (asset class, sector, country) or attach a proxy via "Use proxy security instead", PortfolioPilot tracks the security's value using the indexes we follow. The proxy is automatically replaced if the original security later gets properly mapped in our database. If you'd rather mark-to-market with a specific figure on your own schedule, update the value manually.

If you believe a security should be in the database, email support@portfoliopilot.com with the ticker and exchange — we'll investigate and fix it asap.
