How do I add CDs, savings bonds, or money market accounts to PortfolioPilot?

The best approach depends on the type of asset:

For money market accounts and cash equivalents:

  • Click "Add an asset" → "Cash" → "Manually enter cash"
  • Enter the account name and current balance

For CDs and savings bonds (as Fixed Income):

  • Click "Add an asset" → "Other assets" → select "Custom" from the "Type of asset" dropdown
  • Enter the asset name (e.g. "Chase CD - 12 month"), current value, and expected annual return (e.g. the CD's interest rate)
  • In "Additional details (optional)", set the Asset Class to "Fixed Income"

Update the value at maturity or when the balance changes to keep your net worth accurate.
