How do I add life insurance cash value to PortfolioPilot?

Whole life, universal life, and other permanent life insurance policies with a cash value component can be tracked in Net Worth:

  1. Click "Add an asset"Other assetsCustom.
  2. Enter a name (e.g. "Whole Life Insurance — Cash Value").
  3. Enter the current cash surrender value (found on your policy statement or your insurer's portal).

The cash value will be included in your net worth. Since it's not exchange-traded, you'll need to update the value manually over time.

Note: The death benefit is not included in net worth tracking — only the cash value you could access today. Term life insurance has no cash value and doesn't need to be added.
