How do I add RSUs or vested stock to PortfolioPilot?

In many cases, Vested RSUs are simply shares of stock - you can add them like any other security:

  • Click “Add an asset” (top right) → Private Equity → “Company equity (employee/founder)”
  • Enter the company name and ticker (e.g. AAPL for Apple RSUs)
  • Enter the number of vested shares you hold
  • Set the Account type and Tax Treatment appropriately (e.g. Taxable for a standard brokerage account)
  • Save - PortfolioPilot will pull the current price and include the position in your net worth

For unvested RSUs:

Unvested RSUs are not yet your property, so they generally should not be included in your current net worth. You can model them as a future income event in the Retirement Planner - go to Plan → Retirement Planning → "Money in & out" tab → "+ Add payment" → select the most appropriate payment type.
