What is a Draft Portfolio in PortfolioPilot?

A Draft Portfolio is a sandbox environment - a completely safe workspace where you can experiment with changes to your investments without affecting your real accounts in any way. PortfolioPilot only has read-only access to your connected accounts, so nothing you do in a draft will ever touch your real portfolio.

What you can do in a draft:

  • Add or remove securities
  • Run simulations and what-if scenarios on the proposed portfolio
  • Use the Portfolio Optimizer to generate an improved allocation
  • Check the Order Execution List to see exactly what trades would be needed to move from your current portfolio to the draft
  • Use the Analysis & comparison page to compare your draft side-by-side with your current account or Net Worth Portfolio

How to create a Draft Portfolio:

  • Go to Track → Drafts → click "+ Add Draft Portfolio"
  • Give it a name and choose what to base it on: your Net Worth Portfolio, an Asset Group, or an individual account
  • Click "Create draft" - you're now in the sandbox
