Why does my portfolio show cash equal to my total portfolio value (double counting)?

A connected account can show an incorrect cash figure for a few reasons - the most common is double counting (the connection imports your fund holdings AND the total account value as investable cash, so the same money shows up twice), but it can also happen when the cash side of the account syncs at a different time than the holdings, or when a sweep money market gets counted as both a holding and as investable cash.

To fix it:

  1. Open Net Worth and find the account.
  2. Click the pencil (Edit) icon and look for the Brokerage cash (or Cash) line.
  3. Set it to $0 if the value is being double-counted, or to the actual available-cash figure from your brokerage app if the figure is just off.

PortfolioPilot is read-only - editing the cash here only changes what PortfolioPilot displays. Your actual brokerage balance is untouched.

If the figure keeps reverting after you save, email support@portfoliopilot.com with your account email or use Report an issue from the account row. We'll investigate and fix it asap.
