Why is PortfolioPilot showing incorrect data for a security (expected returns, Sharpe ratio missing)?

If a security shows "-" for expected return, Sharpe ratio, or other forecast metrics, our forecasting model likely doesn't yet cover that ticker. These metrics are forward-looking, so we need enough historical price data to make an informed forward projection. This is common for newly-listed securities, niche international funds, or custom securities added without a recognized ticker - they simply don't have a long enough track record yet. Forecasts, exposures, and dividends refresh on a weekly cadence.

The fastest way to get a full set of metrics for a custom or unrecognized security is to attach a proxy:

  1. Open the holding's edit form.
  2. Select "Use proxy security instead".
  3. Pick a publicly-traded ETF that tracks the same exposure (e.g. an S&P 500 ETF as a proxy for an S&P 500 CIT).

PortfolioPilot will use the proxy's daily prices and forecasts for analysis. To get the ticker added to coverage directly, hit Report an issue next to it in-app (fastest path into our data queue). You can also email support@portfoliopilot.com with the ticker. We'll investigate and fix it asap.
