Why is the dividend yield shown for my fund incorrect?

Dividend yield figures can occasionally come through wrong - too high (often when a one-off capital gains distribution or special dividend is treated as ongoing income) or too low (when a fund's ordinary distribution isn't captured in time). This is a data-quality issue with the upstream source, and we'll investigate and fix it asap once it's reported.

How dividends interact with PortfolioPilot analysis: we use a security's total return stream (price changes plus distributions) when calculating Portfolio Score and most recommendations. The dividend figure is broken out separately in the product for informational purposes - so when the yield is wrong, the headline numbers stay roughly correct. The exception is filters that depend specifically on dividend data, like the "minimum dividend yield" preference under Recommendation preferences - a wrong yield can change which candidates pass that filter.

If you spot a wrong yield, the fastest path is to open the holding's Security details view and click Report an issue next to the dividend data. You can also email support@portfoliopilot.com with the ticker.
