Can I use PortfolioPilot with European brokers and ETFs?

PortfolioPilot currently supports securities traded on US and Canadian exchanges. European exchange-listed ETFs and stocks (e.g. tickers on XAMS, XETR, XPAR) are generally not supported natively.

Workarounds for European investors:

  • If the same fund has a US-listed equivalent (many iShares, Vanguard, and SPDR funds are listed on both US and European exchanges), use the US ticker
  • For ETFs or stocks with no US equivalent, add them as custom securities - set the asset class and enter the current value in USD manually
  • Use a proxy ticker (a similar US-listed fund) so PortfolioPilot can model the exposure and risk profile correctly

For help adding custom or proxy securities, see: Customization Features Tutorial

Expanding international currency and exchange coverage is on our product roadmap for the next year. For the full picture of what is and is not supported outside the US, see What are the known limitations of PortfolioPilot for international investors?
