How can I import my portfolio using an Excel or spreadsheet file?

PortfolioPilot offers two ways to import your portfolio from a spreadsheet:

Option 1 - Easy Portfolio Upload (copy & paste): This is the fastest method if your brokerage shows your holdings in a table format.

  1. Go to the Net Worth page and click to Add or connect, under the securities section
  2. Select "Manually enter securities"
  3. Then press “Add securities all at once”
  4. Open your brokerage website or Excel file, highlight your holdings, and copy them
  5. Paste directly into the input box - our AI will parse the tickers, quantities, and values automatically
  6. Review the results, edit them if needed,  give the account a nickname, and save.

Option 2 - Statement Upload: Best for uploading a full brokerage statement or transaction history.

  1. Go to the Net Worth page and click to Add or connect, under the securities section
  2. Select "Upload Statement"
  3. Upload your file (screenshot, CSV, PDF, Excel, etc - almost any format works)
  4. Your data will be processed automatically (usually within ~2 minutes)

Pro tip: For the most accurate and up-to-date analysis, we recommend connecting your brokerage through our trustworthy partners like Plaid and Yodlee. A live connection enables automatic syncing, transaction history for tax analysis, and more precise recommendations. If your brokerage isn't supported, email us at support@portfoliopilot.com.
