Tesla, EV makers jump as high-flying stocks rebound from brutal sell-off

Shares of Tesla and other electric vehicle makers climbed Tuesday, with the broader technology sector shifting into a higher gear after the Nasdaq index fell into a technical correction. Tesla shares gained 6.4% to $599 as the session got underway, on track to break a string of five consecutive losses as part of a wider selloff of high-flying tech stocks. The recent pressure on Tesla shares pulled them down to a loss of 20% for the year but the stock is still higher by more than 350% over the past 12 months.
